The Fuel Store is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Harvest fuel card customer base and operational staff, following the appointment of administrators to State Oil Limited, the parent company of Harvest Energy.
To ensure a smooth transition for customers, The Fuel Store is honouring existing Harvest fuel card terms, with no requirement for new cards or account setup. All five members of the former Harvest fuel card team are transitioning to new roles at The Fuel Store, including Chris Hanford, former Head of UK Fuel Cards at Harvest.
Jamie Bridgen, Founder and CEO of The Fuel Store, commented:
“This acquisition marks a significant step in The Fuel Store’s strategic growth plan. The integration of the Harvest team enhances our capability and market reach, and we’re particularly pleased to welcome a team with excellent industry knowledge and customer insights.”
Chris Hanford, former Head of UK Fuel Cards at Harvest, added:
“This deal ensures continuity for customers and a strong outcome for our team. The vast industry experience of The Fuel Store’s board, combined with the innovation and focus of the founders, means the business has ambition, clarity of purpose, and the energy to deliver. I am excited for what comes next.”
Founded in 2016, The Fuel Store has grown rapidly from its family business roots into a national provider of fuel cards and fleet management solutions, serving thousands of businesses across the UK. The Fuel Store’s board has a strong blend of entrepreneurial vision and industry expertise. Founders Jamie and Mehma Bridgen have built the business from the ground up, creating a challenger brand that prioritises innovation and customer service. They are joined by Peter Bridgen, a seasoned industry veteran and former UK Managing Director – Fuel Cards for FleetCor; Andrew Blazye, who brings extensive global experience from senior industry roles at FleetCor and Shell International Ltd; and Gary Laitner, senior counsel for a global law firm, who has extensive M&A and corporate experience.
This acquisition is the first in a series of strategic moves as The Fuel Store accelerates its growth ambitions, with further investments and partnerships planned across the fuel and fleet management space.
